Dress to Impress 

Who doesn't love getting packages in the mail???? One of the best things about online shopping is by the time you receive your goodies all the post payment guilt has dissipated and all that is left is the excitement of the incoming package.... It almost feels like gift!
 Today is about a dress that I purchased online from a stunning designer called Elizabeth McKay.
The New York based designer has a small boutique collection of feminine pieces that are timeless and exceed the title of class. My personal style is not trendy or in keeping with the latest mode but rather classic, not generally because I don't like the latest trends but rather because they just don't seem to suit me. Trust me I have tried to be down with the kool kids of fashion but I feel a bit silly! So much to my delight I came across McKay's website!

My first purchase was the Scotland Silk Wrap Dress in Horse Bits Navy and Red. I received it in the mail yesterday and I am delighted at the purchase. I was fortunate to have purchased the dress at 50% off with free shipping so there was not a whole lot of thinking that was required to make this purchase happen! I called the New York store (which was rather exciting as I love NYC ) and the lady who took my call and put through my purchase was so nice and made the experience even better!

The dress came with a small tie belt and another larger fabric belt with gold buttons. the inside of the dress is lined and beautifully stitched!

I can't wait to wear my new purchase!

I recently purchased this tablecloth and I can't wait to receive it!

I have a small obsession with purchasing kitchen and tableware, I can't get enough of it!! A beautiful looking table is the perfect platform to showcase any culinary delights whether it be a casual evening meal or a dinner party with friends for a social meal. The beauty of table design is that you can mix and match servingware, tablecloths, place mats and napkins with only a small cost involved.
So this is where you can let your creative juices flow while creating a beautiful tablescape.

I am on a mission to find a coffee/cocktail table! So far my favourite is Phoebe Howard's espresso stain  coffee table(above). I have an ivory lounge so I like the contrast of the darker coffee tables and side tables. The cross pattern on either side is a really sweet detail!! SO I think I have made my decision on a coffee table ..... finally, its only taken me about a year! Let me know what you think!

More than any room in my house I spend most of my time in the kitchen.... which for me is fine as I love cooking. Many hours are spend trawling various blogs and kitchen designs in search of the perfect  kitchen and I feel my finger is on the pulse and I'm almost there. My style leans towards white cabinets with white and grey marble tops a large oven and huge stove top gas burners finished with pendant lights and possibly brass or silver cabinet hardware..... with lots and lots of mouldings......oh and I'm day dreaming again!!
